Nicole Newell, OTD, OTR/L

Dr. Nicole Newell, OTD, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist, educator, and clinical leader with nearly three decades of experience serving children and adolescents in school-based settings. She is an Adjunct Professor at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ and an Occupational Therapist and Fieldwork Coordinator with Henderson County Public Schools in North Carolina.

Dr. Newell earned her Post-Professional Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ in 2024, along with a Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders. Her doctoral work focused on developing an evidence-based continuing education course on trauma-informed care for children with autism in schools.

Her expertise includes autism, sensory integration, trauma-informed practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration in public school systems. Dr. Newell is nationally board-certified in occupational therapy and licensed in North Carolina.
